IN LOVING MEMORY

Dr. Michael Patton Haney

Feb 18 1973 - Oct 03 2024

Michael Patton Haney passed away on October 3, 2024 following an automobile accident. Born on February 18, 1973 to Jan Patton Haney and Michael Douglas Haney, Michael lived a life that reflected his unwavering faith in God and his devotion to his children, family and medicine.

Known as Bubba to high school and college friends, Michael graduated from Lamar High School in 1991, where he played football and was a leader in his class. He continued his studies at The University of Texas in Austin (BS 1995) and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health School of Medicine in San Antonio (MD 2002). He practiced as a respected anesthesiologist in Tyler, Texas, Birmingham, Alabama and in the DFW area.

Michael is survived by his parents; his three sons Colby Douglas Haney, Austin Travis Haney and Owen (Quinn) Michael Haney; his sister Elizabeth Haney; cousins; and numerous friends and colleagues.

Michael’s number one priority was being a great dad, along with sharing Christ with all, serving others and devoting himself to medicine. Michael was loved by all who met him. He was a kind, gentle and compassionate man in all his interactions. He loved Star Wars, music, movies and the mountains. Michael had a great sense of humor and had the ability to remember lines from movies and apply them to just the right situations.
