IN LOVING MEMORY

Michael Eugene Hogan

Aug 13 1946 - Oct 03 2026

Michael Eugene Hogan, 80, passed away on October 3, 2026. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 13, 1946, to Hollis Eugene Hogan and Mozelle Blakely.

Mike graduated from Duncanville High School in 1963 before attending East Texas State University, where he earned his Master's degree.  His career in education spanned many years, during which he taught and coached at several schools throughout Texas.  He moved into Administration as the High School Assistant Principal, where he earned the nickname "Iron Mike" from the students.  He retired from Cedar Hill ISD as the Athletic Director in 2001.

On June 9, 1967, Mike married Pamela Jean Clark.  They shared 59 years of marriage, building a life centered around family, travel, sports, and countless memories together.

Mike was drafted into the military (U.S. Army) in 1966 and served two years.  He spent the last 12 months in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.

Mike had a lifelong love of sports, but especially golf.  He enjoyed spending time on the golf course and taking golf trips with his two sons.  He also loved traveling to many destinations with Pam, including Italy, Lake Tahoe, Hilton Head Island and his favorite destination of Las Vegas.

One of his greatest joys was being a grandfather (Poppy) to his "B" Girls.... Beezer (Blakely), Brooker (Brooke) & The Bear (Alli).

Family was at the heart of Mike's life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Jean Clark; sons, Todd (Jessica) Hogan, Ty (Katie) Hogan; granddaughters, Blakely (Joseph) Guedea, Brooke Hogan, Alli Hogan; and great-grandson, Jaxon Guedea.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Eugene Hogan and Mozelle Blakely; his sister, Carolyn Harryman; as well as his two cherished bulldogs, Tank and Bogey.

He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a loving family, former students and athletes whose lives he touched, and friends who will remember him fondly. His love for his family, his competitive spirit, his sense of humor, and his enjoyment of the game of golf will remain part of his legacy.

The family will receive friends during a Visitation held Thursday, October 8, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Turrentine Jackson Morrow-Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Dr, Frisco, TX 75033.  A private interment will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery for family.
