Michael Jay Carroll

Lifelong Allen resident, Michael Jay Carroll, passed away after a 15-month battle with a malignant brain tumor. Mr. Carroll passed away at Victoria Gardens in Frisco, Tuesday, October 18. He was 58. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Rowlett Cemetery. Born August 3, 1947, at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of Roy R. and Dora Mae (Herndon) Carroll. He graduated from Allen High School in 1966. In July 1969, Mr. Carroll married the former Lillian Elaine Hendricks. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughter, Amanda Marie Carroll; son, Timothy Michael Carroll; and granddaughter, Macie Carroll, all of Allen. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Roy G. and Norma Carroll, also of Allen, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Marie Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a computer technician and in software support at Rockwell International, Texas Instruments, Phillips Driscopipe, and Software Spectrum. He enjoyed singing in the choir at First Baptist Church of Allen, where he also served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Plano Men of Note barber shop quartet. For the past 7 years, Mr. Carroll was a member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Allen.
