Mi Yong Ra (나미영) passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 66. She was born on April 5, 1958, in South Korea to Yong Ae Kim and Il Sang Lee. Her life journey took her to many corners of the United States, living in Washington, New Jersey, Hawaii, and finally Texas, where she touched the lives of all those who knew her.
Mi Yong is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cicily Ra and husband, Jackson, of Frisco, Texas and furry grandsons Hercules and Fenris; her mother, Yong Ae Kim, of Portland, Oregon; and her sisters, Suk Young Watabayashi and husband, Ron, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ju Suh of Portland, Oregon, and Soon Young Kim and husband Chong Hoon of Seattle, Washington. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews: Sung Ho Kim, Sung Min Kim, Soojin Kim, Soochi Pak, Hyunae Pak and Michael Suh.
She is preceded in death by her father, Il Sang Lee.
Mi Yong’s life was a melody of love, faith, and service. Her compassionate spirit, gentle nature, and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. A devoted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, she will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.
In honor of Mi Yong's legacy of kindness and generosity, the family kindly invites those who wish to support her memory to consider making a donation to a Christian youth program or a local animal rescue of their choice. These contributions will help carry forward the love and compassion she so freely gave to others.
Her legacy of warmth and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her light. While she is no longer with us, Mi Yong’s spirit will forever shine brightly, and her memory will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
