IN LOVING MEMORY

Melody Hope Newhouse

Mar 24 2011 - Sep 25 2026

Born on March 24, 2011, in Garland, Texas, Melody Newhouse, a Sophomore at Farmersville High School, was a creative, innovative, and avid learner. She had a natural curiosity and a beautiful way of bringing positivity and light to those around her. Melody was always smiling, always herself, and above all, a ray of Hope to anyone who knew her. Our beloved Melody gained her angel wings and was called home to heaven on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Melody leaves behind her father, Eric Newhouse and his wife Angela Coronado-Newhouse, and her mother, Arleen Gorski; Siblings: Evelyn Newhouse, Benjamin Coronado-Newhouse, Sebastian Coronado-Newhouse, and Romeo Coronado-Newhouse; Grandparents: Bill Newhouse, Mary Gorski, and Buzz Gorski. She also leaves behind her beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, including: Deborah Thompson (Great Aunt); Theodore “Muggs” Newhouse (Uncle); Billie Jo Curtis (Aunt), Alexis and Ryan Curtis (cousins); Cassandra “Cassie” Winkle (Aunt), Matthew, Christopher, and Aurora Winkle (cousins); Jennifer and John Fishpaw (Aunt and Uncle), Hannah and Jack Fishpaw (cousins); Clyde and Leslie Westbrook (Uncle and Aunt), Kashia, Trey and Zaida Neal (cousins); Maggie and Johnny Leal (Aunt and Uncle), Izzy and Trey Leal (cousins). She was preceded in death by her beloved grandma, Nadine Newhouse (Thompson), as well as her great-grandparents and extended family, who welcomed her with open arms.

Melody had a special love for cats, rubber duckies, Dungeons & Dragons, anime, robotics, engineering and all things crafts. She loved using her incredible natural talents to create personalized gifts for the people she loved. She enjoyed walking around the town with friends, photographing the sky, and riding around with her sister. She could always be found hitting up all their favorite local spots that usually ended with her favorite stop at Grandpas to grab a drink, snack, and talk about their adventures.

Melody was unapologetically herself. She loved expressing her creativity through cosplay, creating videos, designing new costumes, and makeup looks. Her love for anime and cosplay grew even more when she attended Comicpalooza the previous two years with Evelyn, Uncle Muggs and Grandpa. She could often be found working with her sister on cosplay creations for the next year and how they can out-do the previous years.

In 2023, she was involved in a tragic accident, but came through it with incredible strength and resilience. Rather than allowing the event to slow her down, she continued to live life fully and refused to let it keep her from creating memories with the people she loved. Her determination and spirit were an inspiration to those around her, and she continued to embrace every opportunity to laugh, explore, create, and make lasting memories.

Melody Hope Newhouse was an incredible daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Though her time on earth was far too short, the love and joy she brought to her family, friends, teachers, and everyone around her will remain forever.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, October 4th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home at 107 N Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas 75442. The funeral services will be held on Monday October 5th, beginning at 3:00 at 124 S Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas 75442.
