IN LOVING MEMORY

Melissa Ann Costello

Dec 08 1983 - Dec 13 2019

Melissa Ann Costello of McKinney, Texas passed away on December 13, 2019 at the age of 36. She was born on December 8, 1983 to Keith Costello and Treasa (Epple) Costello in Plano, Texas. Having grown up in Allen, Texas and Wylie, Texas, Melissa graduated in 2002. While in school she was a member of the PAL (Peer Assisted Leadership) program allowing her to help those in need. Melissa was awarded one of the Birmingham scholarships; she wrote and read the eulogy for Coach Williams, her PAL’s instructor and made memories that she talked about always. At the age of 10 she had a poem titled, “Snowflake” published in the 1994 edition of “Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans”.

Before becoming too ill to work, Melissa worked at Crossmark in Plano. Even during the last nine years of a multitude of surgical procedures, months in the hospital and even in her final days, Melissa worried about her family, made us laugh, cry and gave us the most precious gift of all, a time to say good-bye. Her legacy of making others feel loved, her infectious laugh, freakish good memory, her willingness to listen and give advice, and above all, the way she loved her family will live on forever. Be sure to carry Melissa with you and meet her in your dreams.

Melissa is survived by her parents, Keith and Treasa Costello of McKinney, Texas; siblings, Kelsey Costello of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Taylor Cox of Henderson, Nevada; and her paternal grandmother, Theresa Costello; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bruce and Sally Epple; aunt, Annette Clark; paternal grandfather, Robert Costello; and her aunt, Erin Costello.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

A memorial donation in Melissa’s name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
