Melba Louise Renfro of McKinney, Texas passed away on December 4, 2020 at the age of 92. She was born on November 22, 1928 to Ollie Rucker and Louie Eugenia (Smith) Simerly in McKinney, Texas. Melba was born and raised in McKinney and was a life-long resident. She attended and graduated from Boyd High School. She married Arthur Lee “A.L.” Renfro, Jr. on June 14, 1947 in Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Cain and husband, A.D. of McKinney, Texas, daughter, Cathy Armon and husband, Jim of Allen, Texas; granddaughter Mandy Via and husband, Gary of Melissa, Texas; grandson, Matthew Cain of McKinney, Texas; great grandchildren, Jacob Borton, Cailie Borton, and Wyatt Borton; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Melba was preceded in death by her husband, A.L. Renfro, Jr. and parents, Ollie and Louie Simerly.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Kim Kunkle and Rita and the hospice nurses for their compassionate care.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Pavilion at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, the following are Ridgeview Memorial Parks guidelines. All are invited to attend the Graveside Service, maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
