Melba Mae Melasky, age 86, of Blue Ridge, Texas went to be with her Savior and the love of her life, “Louie” October 2, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. She was born March 9, 1922 in Waco, Texas to Claude Louis and Myrl (Westbrook) Carter. On July 5, 1939 she married Joseph Louis Melasky in Waco, Texas. She attended school in the Waco area and was a member of the Stonebridge United Methodist Church, McKinney, Texas. Melba was a loving wife, mother, and the love and the light of her life were her grand-children and great-grand-children. She is survived by her children, Anita Myrl Vrba of Palmer, Texas, Linda Jo Halyard and husband, Buddy of Quinlan, Texas, Cindy Lewis and husband, Curtis of Blue Ridge, Texas, Gregory Louis Melasky and wife, Ann of Forney, Texas; grandchildren, Gary, Daryle, Diane, Katrina, Kim, Kerrie, Jimbo, Kelly, Karl, Penni, Becky, Russell, Mindy, and Kristy; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Parks of Waco, Texas; brother, C.W. Carter of Waco, Texas; sister-in-law, Nita Carter of Waco, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Myrl Carter; husband, Joseph Melasky in 1964; brother, Bubba Carter and sister Opal Parks; grand-daugther, Maecy; great-grandson, Patrick. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2008, at Stonebridge United Methodist Church, McKinney, Texas with Pastor Terri Swan and Pastor John Mollet officiating, with graveside services at 5:30 p.m. St. Mary’s Cemetery, West, Texas. Her grandson’s will be pallbearers at the service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Saturday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
