IN LOVING MEMORY

Melba Dean Hamous

Nov 21 1940 - Sep 04 2025

Melba Hamous, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed peacefully into her eternal home on Thursday, September 4, 2025.  She was 84.

Melba Dean Jones was born on November 21, 1940, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, to Melvin, Sr. and Gladys Bossier Jones.  Her early years were filled with strong family values, where hard work was a way of life and a deep sense of love and belonging were instilled in the Jones family of eight daughters and one son.

On July 5, 1958, Melba married the love of her life, Frank Hamous.  Together, they built a beautiful life and family centered around love and faith.

Melba dedicated over 30 years of service to Home Interiors and Gifts, where her eye for beauty and her warm personality made a lasting impact on co-workers and clients alike.

A devoted member of Valwood Park Church in Farmers Branch, Texas, Melba’s faith was a guiding light in her life.  She found joy in serving others and cherished the fellowship she shared with her faith community.

Melba had a gift for making those around her feel at home.  Cooking was her love language and she loved cooking for family and friends, creating meals that brought everyone together.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with her three sons, their families and her loved ones.  Those moments were filled with laughter, stories, and love.  Melba will be remembered for her strength, devotion, and unwavering love for her family.  Her legacy will live on in their hearts.

Melba is survived by her sons, Jody Hamous and wife, Dana, of Corinth, Texas; Glenn Hamous of Carrollton, Texas; Justin Hamous and wife, Angie, of The Colony, Texas; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.  She is also survived by her brother, Melvin Jones, Jr. and wife, Sissie, of Oak Grove, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Chapel at 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The service also will be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Melba’s obituary page.  Viewers may click on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/melba-dean-hamous.  After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link.
