It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Maurice Cliett Hooker, 88, in McKinney, Texas.
Lovingly referred to as “Mo,” he was born in Whitney, Texas on December 16, 1936 to Cliett Alex Hooker and Maurine (Duncan) Hooker. A graduate of Waco High School, Mo attended Baylor University before building a successful career at Dallas Airmotive and various companies across the oil and gas industry. Mo actively operated his own company up until his final days, specializing in EPA compliance.
Devoted father to his only daughter, Tracy Hooker Mueller of McKinney, Texas, Mo was the original “Girl Dad” — hair braiding, softball coaching, gossip listener, boyfriend whisperer and Tracy’s lifelong best friend. His adoration only grew to his son-in-law, Shawn Mueller, and two granddaughters, Lyla Reese and Sadie Ann. Mo loved to attend the girls’ volleyball and softball games as he cheered way too loud, as the most proud grandad super-fan.
Mo also leaves behind his sister, Evelyn Behringer of Tomball, Texas, as well as family and faithful friends in abundance, who will forever cherish their own memories with Mo.
A celebration of Mo’s magnanimous life is currently being arranged, and further details will be shared.
