IN LOVING MEMORY

Maurice John Breton III

Dec 20 1974 - Jun 25 2026

Maurice John “John” Breton III, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 51. A friend to all, John lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and connection. He never met a stranger.

Born on December 20, 1974, in Methuen, Massachusetts, John earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in marketing from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, an institution he loved so dearly that he later served on its Board of Trustees. It was at Oglethorpe that he formed lifelong bonds with his Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity brothers, friendships he treasured for the rest of his life.

Gregarious, warm-hearted, and endlessly kind, John had a gift for making everyone around him feel like family. A gifted tennis player, he won many ALTA championships in Atlanta, played USTA leagues in Texas, and served as president of Eldorado Country Club. A lover of the water and of adventure, he was a passionate scuba diver, and his curiosity carried him across the globe to 37 countries, always eager to travel and explore.

Above all, John was an intensely devoted husband and father. He married his beloved Anna on May 7, 2005, and together they built a life full of love. He cherished nothing more than cuddling his wife and daughter, and his tenderness extended to his beloved dog, Buddy, whom he carried and hugged like a baby. That same big heart shaped his work in McKinney, where he founded and ran Pool Scouts of McKinney and Texas Swim Up Ventures, pouring his energy and personality into everything he built.

In keeping with the generous spirit that defined his life, John was an organ and tissue donor, offering the gift of healing to others even in his passing.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Anna; his daughter, Evie; his parents, Maurice John Breton Jr. and Deborah Breton; his brother, Garrett Breton; and a wide circle of family and friends who adored him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John’s memory to the USTA Foundation: https://www.ustafoundation.com/donate
