IN LOVING MEMORY

Maurice Allen Bowers, Jr.

Apr 22 1937 - Mar 28 2017

Maurice Allen Bowers Jr. went to join his family on March 28, 2017.  He was preceded in death by his parents Laura Helen and Maurice A. Bowers, Sr. and sister Patricia Bowers Clark.

Born and raised in Newark, Ohio, Morrie worked for many years at Kaiser Aluminum in Newark then transferred with the company to Bay Minette, Alabama where he retired.  He later relocated to Plano, Texas to reunite with family.

Morrie loved hunting, history and hound dogs.  Old Skip, Moose (is on the loose), Little Cindy and Sasha (a.k.a. Abby) were just a few of his faithful canine companions who enjoyed an occasional drive-thru cheeseburger and fries.  Once his hunting days were behind him, Morrie was still a force to be reckoned with at the shooting range.  An avid reader, he gave the internet a run for its money with his extensive knowledge of world history... dates, dudes, deeds, just ask Morrie.  With eight decades of life under his belt and just weeks shy of his 80th birthday, he could still reminisce about the good old days in vivid detail.  A much simpler time, a bygone era.

Mr. Bowers took fashion cues from no one.  Mismatch plaids paired with argyle socks were signature Uncle Morrie style.  "One must appease the eccentric," and he would concur emphatically!

Maurice is survived by his brother-in-law Ronald Clark, nieces Tracy Smith & Shari Sukach, nephews Thomas Smith & Christopher Clark.  The Morrie gene lives on through his great nieces and nephews Kelsey Malicki, Kyle Smith, Kiana Lopez, Caden Clark, Cole Clark, Elliott Smith and Sam Smith.
