Mattie Liz Thompson, age 66, of Kempner, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2007, in Temple. She was born July 30, 1941, in Howe, Texas, to Amos Moses Richard and Addie Pauline (Evans) Dean. In 1980 she married Herschel Oran Thompson in Princeton, Texas. She is a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa McPeek and her husband Dwayne of McKinney, and Julie K. Jones of McKinney; son, Joel Oran Neil of Belton; grandchildren, Leslie D. Miers of Sachse, Lindsey M. Miers of Richardson, and Stephanie Neil of Belton; great-grandchildren, Alyson M. Miers of Richardson, Alyssa M. Wilson of Princeton, and Tyler T. Wooters of Sachse. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Thompson; parents; and twelve siblings. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery in Melissa, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
