Matthew Joseph Schunke

April 25, 1997 - June 8, 2019

Matthew Schunke was born April 25, 1997 to parents who loved him beyond measure, James Lee and Bertha (Shea) Schunke in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Matthew (aka Bobby) passed away too soon on June 8, 2019 but his kind loving spirit will be with us always.

His family, father, Jim Schunke and fiancé, Michele Schroeder; mother, Bertha Marasky and step-father, Don Marasky and brother, Kyle Schunke were all so very blessed that he was part of our everyday lives.

Matthew's caring spirit was also felt by his stepbrothers, Christopher Marasky and wife, Linnea; Thomas Marasky, Kevin Marasky and wife, Raquel; stepsister, Kimberly Marasky; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Words can't really convey Matthew's special character.  He wanted all those around him to be happy.  Matthew was compassionate, courteous and generous.  His warmth touched his friends and coworkers.  He will be missed by many for the remainder of our lives.

Please join us in "A Time of Remembrance" starting at 6:00 p.m., Saturday June 15, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  Visitation with Matthew, his family and all who were lucky enough to know him, will follow from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Matthew appreciated flowers but more so he loved helping those in need.  In honor of his spirit, please donate to your favorite charity in his name.

Don & Cheryl Bozman, June 15, 2019 My daughter, Rebecca and Bobby (always referred to as Schunke) were friends in high school. He spent many nights at our house hanging out with their friend group known as “the fam”. He will be missed by all of us.

For all the loss, all the grief, all the mixed up emotions, I find this one poem says it all: If tears could build a stairway And memories were a lane We would walk right up to Heaven And bring you back again No farewell words were spoken No time to say goodbye You were gone before we knew it And only God knows why Our hearts still ache in sadness And secret tears still flow What it meant to lose you No on will ever know But know we know you want us To mourn for you no more To remember all the happy times Life still has much in store Since you’ll never be forgotten We pledge to you today A hallowed place within our hearts Is where you’ll always stay May peace someday rest in your hearts again. Steve and Joan Steve and Joan Atwell, June 14, 2019 Bertha & Don- We never knew Matt aka Bobby, but knowing you two as we have only for a short time, and watching his magnificent video montage, leaves no doubt that he was loved and cherished, and that he grew up surrounded by family and friends that loved him and were close by. Our hearts are with you both, and the rest of your extended family as you share the many lasting memories of a great son and send him off to Rest In Peace- Hugs- Patty & Doug Doug Grambeau, June 14, 2019 Jim, Bertha, I am very sorry for your loss.
