Mary Jo Jones, 92, of Prosper, Texas, formerly of McKinney, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2021 after a short stay at Park Manor of McKinney and several months of challenges to her health.
She was born October 5, 1929 in McKinney, the daughter of Clarence Wesley Davis and Ethel May (Gladden) Davis. She married Arthur Newell Jones on Dec. 14, 1949 in McKinney who preceded her in death on February 17, 2002. She worked over 20 years at Haggar Slacks Company, aka Haggar Pants Factory in McKinney. Then later working at Mervyn’s Distribution Center in Plano before retiring where she had a couple of part time jobs as she enjoyed being out with others to work. She was a member of North Baptist Church of McKinney.
She is survived by her two children, Sandra Carol Jones of Prosper, and Dale Lynn Jones of Carrollton, who always cherished her dearly. Other survivors include one niece, Linda Faye Chapman and three living nephews, Tommy Ray Brown, Danny Earl Rutledge and Garry Don Rutledge. Her fourth nephew, George Clifton Brown preceded her in death as well as per parents, husband and two sisters, Audryus Faye Brown Harlow and Helen Louise Rutledge.
She enjoyed a wonderful long life working with friends over the years and will be missed by close relatives. She was known for her honesty, hard work, and fastidious nature.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2021 at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
