Maryann Cavanna, age 68, of Frisco, Texas, passed away October 12, 2014. She was born July 21, 1946 in Passaic, New Jersey to Theodore and Frances (Wunderlich) Slinger. She grew up in Garfield, New Jersey where she attended Catholic school from Kindergarten to the 8th grade. She graduated from Garfield High School in 1954. On August, 16, 1969, Maryann married Mario G. Cavanna in Garfield, New Jersey. Maryann went to college at Berkeley College of Business where she was Valedictorian. She worked as a Controller at Kalstin for 20 years. Maryann enjoyed bowling, bicycling, boating, watching movies (especially the old ones) and traveling. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Mario Cavanna of Frisco; daughter, Patricia Cavanna of Montvale, New Jersey; son, Richard Cavanna and wife Chasidy of Frisco; grandsons, Jaxson and Jace Cavanna; sister, Eleanor Salmon and husband Jim of Clifton, New Jersey; and brother, Monsignor Joe Slinger of New Jersey.
Maryann is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Theodore, Norman and Bobby Slinger.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, Texas. Entombment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
