Maryann Aikens

June 21, 1931 - March 13, 2017

Maryann Aikens, age 85, of Denton, Texas, passed away March 13, 2017.  Maryann was born June 21, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, to James Thomas and Edna (Trombley) Regan.  She married Wally Aikens on May 28, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois.  Maryann, Wally, their son, Thomas Regan Aikens moved from Chicago in 1964 and became Texans.  Mary’s passion was her home and she had a flare for making it a home.  Another passion was her dogs, Sassy and Sunshine and the 69 that she had through their married life of 63 years.  If dogs do go to heaven, Mary will have a big welcoming party.  Mary and Wally were members of St. Mark Church in Denton, Texas for almost 53 years, which included the years at St. Marks in Plano.

She is survived by her husband, Wally Aikens of Denton, Texas; and son, Tom Aikens and wife, Ying Ma Aikens of Colleyville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William J. Regan.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.

Wally, you know how much Mary meant to me. She will always have a special place in my heart. Thoughts and prayers with you and the family. Randy Wuensche, March 19, 2017 Wally, When I read of Maryann's passing it caused me to remember some thing about her and you when you were my patients at the pharmacy. I'm sure that we saw you more at the pharmacy, however we probably had more phone conversations with Mary. About her health, her medications, her dogs and I'm sure other matters. You two were always a pleasure to deal with. I'm sorry for your loss, but may God's love and grace surround you and your family and bring you some peace at this time. Sincerely, Bill Neu Bill Neu, March 18, 2017
