Mary Elizabeth (Gambill) McFadden of Pearland, Texas passed away peacefully on February 15, 2020 at the age of 85 after a brief illness. A lifelong Texan, she was born on May 19, 1934 to Harry Gambill and Maida Gertrude (Jones) Gambill in San Gabriel, Texas. Mary was the youngest of six children. She married Ollie Neal McFadden on September 22, 1956 in Bryan, Texas.
Mary and her husband, Ollie worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children. She was a devoted mother who balanced working and raising a family. She took immense pride in her family and extended family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. Each one had a special relationship with her and felt her deep love and devotion.
Everyone that she met was touched by her kindness and humility. Throughout her life, she touched so many lives with her openness and unconditional love. Mary had the ability to see the uniqueness of everyone and lift that up in a way that made them feel special and loved.
She was steadfast in her faith in God and it was the cornerstone of everything she did. She lived a life of service and faithfulness in raising her family and serving others.
Mary is survived by her two children, Russell McFadden and wife, Kelly of Dallas, Texas and Martha Sides and husband, Steve of Pearland, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ollie McFadden; infant daughter, Patricia McFadden; 2 brothers, Robert and Jim and 3 sisters, Frances, Elaine and Joy.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 1001 North Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas 75080. The family will receive friends during a viewing one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 after a brief reception.
