IN LOVING MEMORY

Mary "Sue" Zajicek

Dec 20 1920 - Apr 03 2007

Mary “Sue” Zajicek went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She was born Mary Alzada Sanders on December 20, 1920 in Fennimore, Wisconsin, the youngest child of Tilman Basil Sanders and Effie Elizabeth Mindham Sanders. She met her husband and the love of her life, Orland Zajicek, at a dance and they were married 51 years before his passing in 1990. Soon after they met, he gave her the nickname “Sweet Sue” after the song. After Orland’s retirement, they became even more involved in their church, doing home repair work for free for widows and single women. When Orland passed away, “Sweet Sue” felt led by God to begin visiting shut-ins and people in the hospital. She said the Lord told her, “We need to live for the living.” She is survived by her daughter, Lana Kimberlin, Plano; sons Dean (Leslie) Zajicek, Spring TX, and Kim (Laura) Zajicek, Springfield, IL. She adored her grandchildren, Terri (Curtis) Simmons, Greg Kimberlin, Glen (Tracy) Kimberlin, Bryant (Alma) Kimberlin, Cathy Zajicek, Elizabeth Zajicek, Timothy (Rikki) Zajicek, and Andrew Zajicek. She enjoyed her great-grandchildren, Sara, Kevin, Rebecca, Tricia, Alicia, and Erica Simmons, and Gloria, Julia, Philip and Belinda Kimberlin. Her 11th great-grandchild, a girl, is due in May! She also has one great-great-grandson, Gregory Gene Simmons, and numerous other close relatives and friends. Between the children in her life, church visiting, and encouraging others through cards and letters, she had a busy, love-filled life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2007, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on US75 North of Allen. Funeral services will be held at her church of 27 years, Plano Bible Chapel, 1900 Shiloh Road, Plano, on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sue’s memory to VNA Hospice, 1440 W. Mockingbird, Dallas, TX 75247. The provided excellent, loving care in her final months.
