Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Rogers, age 89, of Richardson, Texas and long time resident of Brownwood, Texas passed away April 1, 2009, at her home. She was born on December 10, 1919, in Keenan, Texas to John Benjamin and Mattie Lynch Petty. On December 24, 1938, she married Marvin Rogers in Brownwood, Texas. Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Barbara Culbertson and husband Bill of Denver, Colorado, son, Ben Rogers and wife Mary of Brownwood, Texas, and daughter, Julie McGarry and husband Vince of Richardson, Texas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Marvin Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Richardson. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., at East Lawn Cemetery in Early, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors.
