Mary Pratt was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, love and devotion to family. Mary was the beloved daughter of Superintendent FT, Pratt, St. and Missionary Sam Ella Pri carrying throughout her life the spiritual values, strength, and faith instilled in her by her parents.
She was the cherished mother of two daughters, Lasha Thompson and Lataya Prat, and lovingly embraced her son-in-law, Reginald Thompson, as family. She found immense joy in her grandchildren Tayzia, Tallyn, Jade, and Peyton, whom she loved dearly. She also held a special place in her heart for h beloved dog, Louie, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy.
Mary dedicated 30 years of faithful service to the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, retiring after distinguished career serving under District Attorney Henry Wade and Attorney Jeff Shaw He professionalism, dedication, and work ethic left a lasting impact on all who worked alongside her.
A faithful servant of God, Missionary Mary Pratt served devotedly in the Church of God in Christ (C.O.O.I.C.) as a Missionary and Prayer Warrior. Her life reflected unwavering faith and devotion. She led her family through prayer, always encouraging them and reminding them that "A family that prays together stays together." Her prayers became a covering over generations, and her faith was a source of strength and guidance to many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Roy Clifton, F.T. Pratt, Jr., and Leonard T. Pratt, sisters, Ruth Ella, Lillian Ann, Christine, and Linda Faye; and beloved niece, Kimberly Henry.
Missionary Mary J. Pratt leaves a lasting legacy of faith, prayer, service, love, and family devotion that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sister, Missionary Fannie Sauls (Elder Donald Sauls), her daughters, Latosha Thompson and Latoya Pratt, son-in-law, Reginald Thompson, grandchildren, Tayzia, Tallyn, Jade and Peyton, bonus grandson, Darius; beloved dog Louie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Greater Mt Calvary Church God in Christ, 4122 Bertrand Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75210. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
