Mary Louise Michaels, age 87, of McKinney, Texas passed away February 1, 2007 at her home following a 12 year illness associated with Alzheimer’s. She was born May 11, 1919, in Wolfe City, Texas, to Ralph and Edna (Ward) Green. On May 29, 1966 she married Francis “Mike” Michaels in Durant, Oklahoma. Mrs. Michaels was the credit union manager for State Farm Mutual Insurance Company. She volunteered in many hospitals serving on the hospital auxillaries. Mary was an avid golfer who loved all small children, especially her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in McKinney.
She is survived by her husband of forty years, Mike; children Carolyne Brecheisen of Plano, Paula Kirkpatrick of Oklahoma City, OK, Jon Michaels of Bloomington, IL, Terre Michaels of Garland, TX, Debra Todd of Carrollton, TX, and Tamme Goodwin of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren Paige Dawson, Rex MacLouchlin, Heather Baker, Jon Michaels, Eric and Brandi Goodwin, Ryan, Christopher, and Denver Todd, Kassie Michaels, Alicia and Laura Smith and their father Dennis Smith; great-grandchildren Tyler, Justin and Conner Baker, Katelyn Post, and Rachel and Emma Dawson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter Penne Smith; brothers Roy, Jimmy Ralph and Buster Green; and sisters Rena “Sis” Gumm and Patricia Kirkpatrick.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Ed Lantz , Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at Justin Cemetery in Justin Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
