Mary Lee Smith of McKinney, Texas formerly of Plano, Texas passed away August 4, 2020 at the age of 76. She was born on September 3, 1943 to Carl Weldon Boyd and Cecil Merle (Hukel) Boyd in Lubbock, Texas. Mary worked as a registered dietician, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Tech University and her Masters from the University of Virginia. She was a member of Church of Christ.

Mary is survived by her sister, Camille Poetschke of McKinney, Texas; sister, Nora Vincent of Florence, Alabama; and brother, Carl Weldon Boyd of Dallas, Texas plus a host of other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Cecil Boyd.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2020, at Ridgeview Memorial Park (Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home) 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

In support of our local, state, and federal government directives, including CDC directives, to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, the following are Ridgeview Memorial Parks guidelines. All are invited to attend the Graveside Service, maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.

The graveside service will also be video recorded and will be available following the graveside service on Mary’s obituary page.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
