Mary Kathryn Davis

Mary Kathryn Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, at the age of 95 in McKinney, Texas. Mary was born on November 21, 1929, in Pilot Point, Texas, to Otis Holley, Sr. and Ora (Vaughn) Holley. She was one of 13 children and grew up in a large, close-knit family.

Mary attended the historic E. S. Doty School in McKinney, Texas, and went on to marry her late husband, Willis Davis, in 1949. Together, they built a life full of love and cherished memories. Mary worked tirelessly throughout her life, providing domestic service to many and working for several years at the Cotton Mill. Later in life, she continued her dedication to hard work as an employee at KitchenVent.

Outside of her work, Mary had a deep love for gardening and fishing, finding joy and peace in the simple pleasures of life. However, her greatest passion was always her family. As a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in McKinney, she found strength and community in her faith.

Mary is remembered for her kindness, strong work ethic, and the unwavering love she gave to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.

May she rest in peace, her legacy forever cherished.

Mary is survived by her children, Donald Davis of Long Beach, California, Kathy George and husband, Alfred of Oak Point, Texas, Kevin Davis and wife, Michelle of McKinney, Texas, and Kimberly Davis and partner, Cynthia Tjerslund of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Rodney, Raymond, Alton, Andre, Ayanna, Sean, Tiarra, Alfred, Jr., Kacia, Kavon, Kawanza, Kamilah, and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Mia, Robert, III, Kayden, Kacillin, Kallen, Kyler, Kyro, Noah, Kayla, and Dianna; sister, Linda Diane Phillips and husband, Aaron Phillips; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Davis; sons, Billy Earl Davis and Robert Wayne Davis; and parents, Otis and Ora Holley.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024 at The First Baptist Church, 401 East Erwin Avenue, McKinney, Texas75069. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 for a committal service.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
