Mary Kathryn Blevins

Mary Kathryn Blevins passed away August 29, 2023 at the age of 87 in Richardson, Texas. She was born December 29, 1935 to Lee Amos Blevins, Jr. and Cecil May Bray in Salem, Arkansas.

She graduated from Little Rock High School. After high school Mary Kay immediately joined the workforce in Little Rock. She retired from the Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in 2010. Mary remained in Little Rock until 2017 when she moved to the Dallas, Texas area to be closer to family. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Mary loved watching and keeping up with the University of Arkansas Razorbacks and all their sports teams.

Kay was very active in her church community, and she went on many different senior trips with the First Baptist Church of Little Rock. She especially also enjoyed attending dinner theater trips with friends. Even after moving to Dallas, Texas Mary did her best to attend bible studies and the different church events there. She loved keeping up with her nieces, nephews, and even the great nieces and nephews. Kay also loved attending family celebrations and hearing about their adventures.

She is survived by her nephew, Andy Lee Blevins and wife, Mary Jean of Lucas, Texas; niece, Emily Jane Chadbourne and husband, Robert of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandnieces, Christine Schultz and Shandra Blevins; grandnephews, David and Robert Chadbourne; great grand nieces and nephews, Hannah, Lucas, Aubrey, Kyden, Jettler, Gelia, Ozzie and numerous other loving family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Cecil Blevins and brother, Lee A. Blevins, Jr.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Union Cemetery in Union, Arkansas, 10 miles south of Salem, Arkansas.

Flowers can be sent to Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas and need to be received by 4 pm on Friday, September 22. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Little Rock or charity of your choice.
