Mary Jean Bridgefarmer, a lifetime resident of Collin County, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Orchard Park of McKinney. She was 93 years old. She was born on August 7, 1922 in Collin County, in the home of her parents, Roy Douglas and Esther (Massie) Tarvin.

Mary Jean loved socializing, spending time with her family, and making sure everyone had enough to eat. She looked forward to her weekly Friday lunches with friends and to holiday gatherings with her family. She was lovingly called "Mawmaw" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who cherished her.

Mary Jean attended First Baptist Church of McKinney, where she enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday School class. She faithfully sent cards and encouraging notes to friends and family. Her smile, sense of humor, and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her well.

Mary Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard Eugene Bridgefarmer, and her son Wendell Ervin Holder.

She is survived by her two daughters, Evita Patton and her husband Joe, and Tina Phillips and her husband Mike, all of McKinney;daughter-in-law, Paula Holder of Allen six grandchildren, Kima Spurgin (husband Mark), Amy Snodgrass (husband Eric), Brian Phillips (wife Holly), Blake Phillips (wife Rachel), Jessica Hendrickson (husband Kyle) and Joseph Patton (wife Jordain); and eight great-grandchildren, Kasie Ergish (husband Brian), Tanner Spurgin, Presley Snodgrass, Payge Snodgrass, Whitman Phillips, Gillian Phillips, Hope Hendrickson, and Zoey Hendrickson. She is also survived by one step-daughter, Charlotte Bolton, four step-grandchildren, Kevin Bounds (wife Brandi), Cody Bounds, Charity Andrews (husband Brian), Faith Bleecker (husband Michael) and their children.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Turrentine- Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening February 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
