Mary Frances Hunter, age 94, of Plano, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2017. She was born July 20, 1923 in Greenville, South Carolina to E. Leonard and Florence (Boleman) Clark. On September 19, 1942, Frances married Joseph Orr Hunter, Jr. in Oakdale, North Carolina. She was a homemaker, a helpmate to her husband (for over 59 years) and a godly example to her children and others. She also worked for over fifteen years at Commerce Union Bank in Nashville, Tennessee as an administrative assistant. Upon moving to Texas in 1998, Frances volunteered for ten years at Medical City in Plano, Texas. She was a member of Hunters Glenn Baptist Church in Plano. Frances lived her last years at Dayspring Assisted Living in Plano, Texas - a place that truly loved and cared for her.
Frances was a woman who not only loved Jesus as her Lord and Savior, but had a true heart to serve Him as she served others. She studied the Bible - but more importantly, she lived what she learned. She was big on manners, on respect and consideration of others. She was a gift to those that knew her.
She is survived by her son, Joseph “Chip” Hunter, III and wife Janet of Collierville, Tennessee; daughter, Elaine McGehee and husband Tom of Plano, Texas; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter (Mary Bethany Hunter); and grandson (Tripp McGehee).
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
