Mary Ellen (Sheets) Vogeley, 71, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas. She was born in Newcastle, Pennsylvania, the beautiful daughter of late Richard and Allene (Gates) Sheets of Newcastle, Pennsylvania.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of Mohawk High School class of ‘63, and Grove City College class of ’67 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. She had been employed as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Florida until her recent retirement. Mary Ellen dedicated her life to helping others through multiple avenues such as rehabilitation centers and volunteering at food pantries. She loved spending time with her dear friends, playing cards and board games, playing piano and singing in the choir. Mary Ellen was a faithful member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church in Tampa, Florida. She has many friends and family members who will treasure her loving heart and generous soul.
Mary Ellen is survived by her three sons, Alan Vogeley and wife, Colette of Yorktown, Virginia, Andrew Vogeley and wife, Shana of Wylie, Texas and Adam Vogeley and wife, Colleen of Seattle, Washington; two treasured grandchildren, Cason and Cori Vogeley.
A memorial service will be held in Tampa, Florida later this year.
