Mary Edna Woodard, born on August 8, 1947, in Melissa, Texas, passed away on May 24, 2026, in McKinney, Texas, at the age of 78. A lifelong resident of Texas, Mary dedicated her skills as a cook to the restaurant industry, spending many fulfilling years employed at Steffeys. Her passion for cooking was matched only by her love for family and friends.

Mary was a cherished sister to Shirley Woodard, Willie Hays, and Melvin Woodard, and she leaves behind her beloved niece, Joy Deshazo, and nephews, George Gonzales and Alex Deshazo. She was known for her warm heart and her natural gift for bringing people together, often through her nurturing spirit in the kitchen.

In addition to her culinary talents, Mary had a passion for puzzles and friendly games of bingo, where she created many delightful memories with friends. Most notably, she will be remembered for the unconditional love she provided to her toy poodle, who was her faithful companion for nearly 15 years. They were truly inseparable, sharing countless joyful moments together.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2026 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013

Mary Edna Woodard will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.

She is survived by Annette, Pam, Lorene, Olevia, Angie and friend, Patsy. Mary was preceded in death by: Melvin Woodard, Opal Welch, Shirley Woodard, Willie Hays, Melvin Woodard, Krystle Barrett.
