Mary Elizabeth Corbett Taylor, age 81, of Fairview, Texas, passed away on January 18, 2017. She was born August 17, 1935, in Washington, D.C., to Don Cecil and Marion Young (Kimball) Corbett. On October 6, 1955 Mary married Jesse Martin Taylor, Jr. in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a 1957 graduate of Brigham Young University, where she majored in English and minored in French. Mary was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served faithfully all of her life. Family was everything to her and she was known by all as Mama Taylor.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Jesse Taylor, III and wife Cathy of Plano, Texas, Dr. Don Corbett Taylor (deceased) and wife Hilde of Tyler, Texas, Emily Smart and husband Scott of Celina, Texas, Melissa Kleinheksel and husband Jon of McKinney, Texas, Carolyn Farrer and husband Randy of Plano, Texas, Dr. Samuel Clayton Taylor and wife Tya of Norman, Oklahoma, Dr. Sloan M. Taylor and wife Afton of Alpine, Utah, Grady Taylor and wife Staci of Winnsboro, Texas, Mary Jane Lawrence and husband Paul of McKinney, Texas, Mary Anne Jensen and husband Scott of Celina, Texas, Jordan Taylor and wife Charissa of Anna, Texas; fifty-five grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; sisters, Joanne Taylor of Chandler, Arizona, Cathy Melchin and husband Richard of Calgary, Alberta Canada; sister-in-law, Julie Corbett of Lindon, Utah; brother-in-law, Dwaine Goodwin of Normal, Illinois; many other loving relatives and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jesse Martin Taylor, Jr.; son, Dr. Don Corbett Taylor; parents, Don Cecil and Marion Young Corbett; brother, Dr. Edward Kimball Corbett; and sister, Julie Corbett Goodwin.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 651 E. Stacy Road, Fairview, Texas 75069. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Friday, January 27th, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
