Mary C. Cole

Mrs. Mary C. Cole, age 88, of Wylie, Texas, passed away October 14, 2007. She was born October 27, 1918, in Louisville, Kentuckey to Martin and Agnes (Aultman) Richardson. Mrs. Cole was reared by her maternal grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Aultman of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She earned her B.S. and Masters Degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi and was a graduate of Chicago School of Interior Design. She married William A. Cole. Mrs. Cole was a Baptist and worked in all of the churches where she lived. She was adult Sunday School teacher for fifty-two years and a member of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board for six years. She worked with associations when needed. Mrs. Cole was a member of First Baptist Church in Wylie, Texas. She was a retired school teacher and administrator. She is survived by her sons, James E. Cole of Wylie and Charles A. Cole of Wylie; one granddaughter; eight grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, William A. Cole; and daughter, Christine Cole Gray. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with her pastor, Dr. A. L. Draper officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Oral Baptist Church Cemetery, Hattiesburg, Mississippi with Rev. Billy Williams officiating. Hulett Winstead Funeral Home will be in charge of the Mississippi services.
