Mary Beth Stewart of Plano, Texas passed away February 18, 2021 at the age of 60. She was born on December 27, 1960 to George Devereaux Stewart and Jeanne Elizabeth (Kale) Stewart in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Mary Beth was born with Down Syndrome, but never let any challenges stop her from leading the life she wanted. Mary Beth resided in a group home in Plano, Texas for over 20 years and loved the independence she gained. Mary Beth had a fondness for watches, sunglasses, and McDonald’s hamburgers and fries. She also enjoyed dining in restaurants with linens and fine china. Mary Beth was very close to her late parents, her siblings, Pam, Greg, and her late sister and brother-in-law Carole and Gerard, brother-in-law, Keith, and eight nephews and nieces. She was a treasure to her family and leaves a legacy of the compassion she taught them. Mary Beth was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Plano.
She is survived by her sister, Pamela Lewis and husband, Keith of Allen, Texas; brother, Gregory Stewart and wife, Nancy of Morristown, New Jersey; nieces and nephews, Chase Lewis and wife, Katie, Chris Lewis and wife, Mattie, Katie Baker and husband, Nick, all of McKinney, Texas, Gregory Stewart and wife, Caitlin of Austin, Texas, Thomas Stewart and wife, Katie of Glenside, Pennsylvania, Brittany Stewart of Alexandria Virginia, Jack Stewart of San Francisco, California, and Patrick Sheeran of Arlington, Virginia; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jeanne Stewart and sister, Carole Sheeran and husband, Gerard.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 4, 2021 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Drive, Plano, Texas. The inurnment is to follow at St. Marks Columbarium. A reception will be held after the services in the church dining hall.
