Mary Ann (Haralson) Niemeyer of Dallas, Texas passed away on November 15, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born on April 26, 1930 to George Carroll and Mary Gladys (Rayburn) Haralson in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mary Ann grew up in McKinney, Texas graduating from McKinney High School in 1948. She received a
Bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University and a Master’s degree from TWU. Mary Ann taught at various schools in Texas. After her first year of teaching, she bought a car for her mother and herself. She married Edward Rupert Niemeyer on June 7, 1959 in McKinney, Texas. Mary Ann was an administrator at Houston Baptist University for 19 years until her retirement in 1993. Later, she worked for Lifeway Baptist Bookstore. She was an avid reader and as a member of Westbury Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school for many years. Mary Ann loved her family and especially loved being a grandmother. She was a great hostess of parties for her family and friends. Mary Ann lived in Braeburn Valley subdivision in Houston for over 40 years. She was a member of Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Carol Ann Niemeyer of Dallas, Texas, Greg Niemeyer and wife, Grace also of Dallas; grandchildren, Molly Grace Niemeyer and Emily Susanna Niemeyer; brother, Carroll Haralson and wife, Nancy of Seminole, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Pecan Grove Cemetery, 1701 S. McDonald, McKinney, Texas 75069. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas 75013.
