Mary Ann Davies, age 96, of Clydach, S. Wales passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was born on October 17, 1921, in Clydach, S. Wales to David John and Hannah Mary James. Mary Ann married Ronald Davies on February 3, 1942 in Clydach, S. Wales. During the latter part of her career, she was an Auxiliary nurse at Moriston Hospital and served in the army in WW II. She was loved dearly by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to travel to see her family in America and Australia. Every year she would travel to Dallas, Texas for 3 months to celebrate the holidays. Sadly it was in Dallas on her most recent visit where she passed, surrounded by her daughter, granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Diana Davies of Perth Australia; daughter, Elan Clarke and husband, Jeff of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Rhiannon Evans and husband, Ben of Fairview, Texas, Bethan Roti and husband, Adam of Allen, Texas, Rhian Richards and husband, John of Perth, Australia; great-grandchildren Matthew Evans, Carys Evans and Abigail Evans and their mother, Rhiannon Evans; grandson, Mason Roti and his mother, Bethan Roti; brother, Islwyn James of Swansea, Wales.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Davies; her father, David John James; her mother, Hannah Mary James; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
A small private family service was held on February 1, 2018. A celebration of life will be held at the home of Rhiannon and Ben Evans on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held in S. Wales when she returns in April.
