Martin “Ed” Cotton, age 86 of Plano, Texas passed away February 7, 2015 in McKinney, Texas. He was born July 6, 1928 outside Pattonville, Texas to Forrest and Christine (Hickey) Cotton. Ed graduated top of his class from Martha High School in Oklahoma. He then moved to the Lubbock area and began working for Montgomery Ward. Ed married Melba Griffin March 31, 1950 in Lubbock, Texas. He retired from Retail Management after forty-two years of service. Ed loved his God and was all about his family. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Melba Cotton of Plano, Texas; daughters, Deborah Knowles of Plano, Texas and Renee Cotton of Plano, Texas; son, Stuart Cotton of San Antonio, Texas; two grandsons, Taylor Cotton of Austin, Texas and Travis Cotton of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Krause of Houston, Texas and Daena Stafford and husband Sam of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Ed was preceded in death by his three brothers, Ken Cotton, Ron Landers, and Jerry Landers; sister, June Erickson; son-in-law, Jerry Knowles, and sister-in-law, Wanda Griffin.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church 3101 Coit Rd., Plano, Texas 75075. The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
