Marlon Randall Mitchell, age 58, of Yantis, Texas passed away on December 27, 2024, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was born on November 8, 1966 to Merrell and Betty Morgan Mitchell.
Marlon was a graduate of the Celina High School Class of 1985. Marlon remained an avid Bobcat fan throughout his life. Upon graduation, Marlon attended the Dallas Mortuary Institute where he received his license in Mortuary Science. He was a Funeral Director at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in McKinney for numerous years. Throughout his life, he was proud of many things. One of those things was being the Center for the Celina Bobcat football team. Marlon was an avid music lover. He loved guitar and attending rock concerts. Marlon has spent his early retirement years at Lake Fork surrounded by friends. Marlon was a jokester and friend to all.
He is survived by his daughter, Makagan Mitchell of Van Alstyne, Texas; his step-daughter, Brittany Maynard of Pottsboro, Texas; his sisters, Elizabeth and John Sciortino of Pottsboro, Texas, Kathy Phillips and Herbie of Aubrey, Texas, and Kim Hinson and Jim of Buffalo, Texas; his nieces and nephews, Dale Phillips, Hillary Robinson, Madison Phillips, Nicole Hill, John Sciortino II, Anna Sciortino, Dalton McCarty, Jaylyn McCarty, Samantha Modesto; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Marlon was preceded in death by his parents, Merrell and Betty Morgan Mitchell.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Dr., Frisco, Texas, 75033.
