Marlin E. Brandt

Marlin was born on August 27, 1928, in Le Sueur, Minnesota, to Awald and Angela (Holtz) Brandt. He graduated from Le Sueur High School and later attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Marlin also served his country in the United States Air Force.

After college, he taught in Hamilton, Texas for two years. Marlin then had a long and fulfilling career with Loral Vought Systems, working there for 38 years until retirement. In his personal life, he enjoyed playing golf, attending Bible study, and watching the Texas Rangers. Music was also a significant part of Marlin’s life; he played in a jazz swing band. He was a member of White’s Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake.

Marlin is survived by his son, Bradley Brandt and wife, Sharon of Georgetown, Texas; daughter Cynthia Hyles and husband, Gean of Hurst, Texas; son, Bill Brandt of Dallas, Texas; son, Gary Crouch and wife, Debbie of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Tanis Northcutt and husband, Ralph of Irving, Texas; daughter, Marla Brandt of Dallas, Texas; and sister, Leta Newburger of Maple Valley, Washington. Marlin had 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Vinson Brandt; son, Brendon Brandt; and parents, Awald and Angela Brandt.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
