Mark Hanson Palmer, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Allen, Texas. He was born on March 10, 1951, to Howard W. Palmer and Ellen Katherine (Hanson) Palmer. Mark was born and raised in Ventura, California, where he graduated from Buena High School. He enjoyed a distinguished career with MidCoast Builders, retiring after more than 30 years. He was also a respected member of the Carpenters SW Union. In 2005, he moved to Allen, Texas, where he continued to embrace life with enthusiasm.
A talented artist and musician, Mark had a deep passion for playing multiple instruments, with the guitar and blues harmonica being his primary. He was also an avid collector of custom classic cars and hot rods and owned several motorcycles, including Harley Davidsons and Iron Horse models.
Mark's memory will live on through the lives he touched and the passions he pursued. His spirit of creativity, joy, and dedication will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jon Palmer; sister, Rebecca Schiro; and parents, Howard and Ellen Palmer.
Mark was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the cherished husband of Debra L. Palmer and a devoted father to Gabriel Palmer, Sophia Palmer, Brielle Palmer, Mark A. Young (Tamara), and Marisa N. Young, and doting grandfather to four grandchildren: Tiana, Malaya, Alana Young, and Grace Padron. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family, including mother-in-law, Lillian Roman; sister-in-law, Ruth Morris (Lee); brothers-in-law, Rick Roman (Debi), Rudy Roman (Kim) and John Schiro; nieces, Lisa Middleton (Rob) and Gina Nord (Brian); grand-nieces, Kiersten and Trinity Middleton, and Logan Nord; and grand-nephew Caden Nord. He leaves behind many other nephews and nieces, including Matt Morris, Sarah Morris-Martinez (Gerald), Amy DiBartolo (Brian), Carly Roman, Jacob Roman, Joshua Roman, Nathan Roman, and Halee Boegler (Kevin), along with grand-nieces, Maia and Madi Morris, Camila Martinez; and grand-nephews, Nash and Wesley Boegler.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Scandia Pines Clubhouse, 1000 Scandia Drive, Ventura, California 93004.
