Mark Lee Cowden, II of Whitewright, Texas, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away June 27, 2012 at the age of 59. He was born June 13, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mark is a veteran having served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He met the love of his life, Julie Willis, in August, 1985 in St. Louis. They were married on December 20, 2002 in Whitewright, Texas.
Mark was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating, wildlife, mountain travel, farming, construction, mechanical projects, and storytelling. He impacted so many lives with his generosity, wisdom, humor, and friendship.
Mark is survived by his wife Julie E. Willis of Whitewright; daughter, Shelly D. Willis of Edmond, Oklahoma; son, Michael Cowden of Austin, Texas; and daughter, Kathleen Cowden of Iowa; mother, Marcella L. Cowden-Haught of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Tami D. Cowden of Las Vegas, Nevada and Connie L. Andersen of Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank O. Cowden; sister, Darcella D. Cowden; daughter, Christine Cowden; and son, Frank Cowden.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas.
