Mark Brend, age 50, of Melissa, Texas, passed away April 19, 2009, in Melissa. Mark was born November 13, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to James Gerhart and Barbara Jean (Jessen) Brend. He was a sales representative for Adam’s Spice and Extract Company serving the Collin and Grayson county areas. Mark was also an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Brend of Dallas, Texas; son, Cody Brend and wife, Brandy serving his country in Korea; grandson, Aiden James Brend; mother, Barbara Brend of Melissa, Texas; brothers, Michael Brend and wife, Robyn of Missouri City, Texas and Kurt Brend of Newnan, Georgia; and numerous other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father in 2006. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, April 24, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Deacon Ron Fejeran officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 4:00 P.M., Thursday with a rosary said by Mrs. Jeri Brend at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
