Marjorie Ann Schwarz

Marjorie Ann Schwarz, age 58, of Parker, Texas passed away May 16, 2005, at her home. She was born on August 23, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa to Oren Wayne and Cleo Marie (Horton) Herndon. Mrs. Schwarz earned a Bachelors degree in Education and her Masters in Reading from Drake University. She retired after 25 years of service for Plano ISD from Sigler Elementary. She was Sigler Teacher of the Year for the 1999-2000 school year. She currently was completing her second year of part-time teaching at Davis Elementary. Her love and excitement for teaching children to read led her to become a Literacy Specialist for Plano ISD, where her influence touched the lives of so many teachers, parents, and students. Mrs. Schwarz was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Allen. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Schwarz of Parker; daughters, Camie Mosley and husband, Mike of Allen, Charla Schwarz and Kimberly Orr and husband, Don all of Columbus, Georgia; sons, Jay Brummett of Richardson, Texas, Chas Brummett of Allen, Texas and Chris Schwarz and wife, Monica of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica, Michelle, Megan and Caitlinn Mosley, Lydia and Benjamin Orr, Keith Schwarz and Traci and Crystal Borders; and brothers, Ron Herndon and wife, Louise and Steve Herndon all of Des Moines, Iowa; and nieces and nephews. Her parents and one sister, Phyllis Woods preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2005, in the First United Methodist Church, 601 South Greenville, Allen, Texas with Rev. Milton Guttierrez and Rev. June Franck officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. The family would like to express their thanks to the many doctors who worked so diligently to find a cure for her illness. They also express their thanks to all of their friends for their abundant love, prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Collin County Unit, 8900 Carpenter Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247.
