Marjorie Louise Hunter of McKinney, Texas died peacefully at home March 3, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born April 27, 1921 to Julius and Helen (Carlson) Flohr in Fremont, Kansas. She married Jewett L. Hunter on June 4, 1949 in Fremont, Kansas. She graduated from Marquette High School in Marquette, Kansas and was a graduate of Halstead Hospital School of Nursing in Halstead, Kansas. Marjorie served her country proudly as a registered nurse in the United States Army from 1942-1946 during WWII in North Africa and Italy. She continued her nursing career at the VA Hospital in McKinney, Collin Memorial Hospital in McKinney, and with the McKinney ISD. Marjorie was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney for sixty-five years.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Debbie Spears and husband Danny, Teresa Hansen and husband Ken, and Wendy Hunter, all of McKinney; grandchildren, Emily Sager and husband Bobby, Adam Spears and wife Sarah, and Carrie Patterson and husband Trent; great-grandchildren, Maci, Kylie, and Evan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewett L. Hunter; parents, Julius and Helen Flohr; brothers, Marvin Flohr, Gene Flohr, Ralph Flohr and wife Ruth, John Flohr and wife Jeanette, and Jim Flohr; and son-in-law, Gary Losh.
The family wishes to acknowledge the loving and faithful service of their moms dear friends Nancy Dodson and Janet Meyers. They gave her the great gift of remaining in her home.
A private graveside service was held at Pecan Grove Cemetery with military honors.
