Marilyn Essary Kemp of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 29, 2020 at the age of 70. She was born on September 26, 1950 to Luther Lee Essary and Mary Louise (Chism) Essary in Springfield, Missouri. Marilyn graduated from the University of Texas in Dallas (UTD) on May 16, 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics. She married David Kemp on September 3, 1997 in Maui, Hawaii. Marilyn worked at Southwestern Bell as a network center technician and then worked for AT&T from 1969 to 2006, she was a dedicated worker. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Marilyn was a giver and she was a selfless person that touched many lives. She would crotchet for babies in the NICU. Marilyn was an avid quilter, who would also help assist others in quilting and repairing quilts. She loved to travel, she was a world traveler; even traveling to the Great Barrier Reef. Marilyn was a scuba diver. She was a mother to her grandchild, Leah. 

Marilyn is survived by her husband, David Kemp of McKinney, Texas; children, Chris Leach and wife, Cristina of Richardson, Texas, Tara Williams, Darcus Bryant of Wylie, Texas, Angela Billman and husband, Bobby of Austin, Texas and Brook McWalters and husband, Alan of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Sofia, Leah, Dylan, David, Jonathon, Matthew, Fisher, Nolan, Miles, Marhsal, Olivia, Abigail and Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Lynnon, Atticus and Sophia; brothers, Danny Essary and wife, Shirley of Fair Grove, Missouri and Ron Essary and wife, Melinda of Marshfield, Missouri; sister, Cindy Ingenthron and husband, Steve of Nixa, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pat Terry.

Flowers can be sent or memorial donations can be made to your favorite charity in Marilyn’s name.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Memorial Service.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Marilyn’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: Celebrationoflife.tv. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Marilyn and show their support to her family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
