Marilyn Gramer Hopper of McKinney, Texas passed away October 20, 2014 at the age of 88. She was born November 24, 1925 to William Joseph and Melba (Steinbrecker) Gramer in Chicago, Illinois. Marilyn married Anson Clarence Hopper on April 30, 1949 in Houston, Texas. She was a secretary for Phillips Petroleum from 1978 until her retirement in 1992. Marilyn was involved in the Women’s Guild at St. Michael Catholic Church and the Art Club of McKinney.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Groom of McKinney, Texas and Cheryl Rohde of League City, Texas; son, Marc Hopper and wife Lynn of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Gregory Gall and wife Kittie, Kristen Gall and husband Jason Wiles, Robert Hopper, Kevin Hopper and Lauren Reed and husband Jamie; great-grandchildren, Megan Gall, Nathan Gall and Hannah Wiles; sister, Betty Corbett; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Anson C. Hopper.
A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2014 at St. Michael the Archangel, 411 Paula Road, McKinney, Texas 75069. Interment will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
