Marilyn Harrison Monschke, age 86, passed away July 8, 2026.
Marilyn was born October 14, 1939, to Austin Allen Harrison and Eleanor Pingree Harrison in Carthage, Missouri. After growing up as the eldest of eight children, Marilyn attended Joplin Junior College where she served on the student council and was active in the drama department. Marilyn later studied journalism at the University of Missouri -St. Louis.
On October 9, 1977, she married David Monschke in St. Louis, Missouri. Marilyn and David were drawn together through their mutual love of nature. Marilyn especially loved butterflies and her home was always filled with photos and artwork of butterflies. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas.
Marilyn was an executive secretary for many years. A favorite part of her job was planning large corporate events around the country. Marilyn was also famous in the office for her baked goods. She received many special requests from co-workers for her signature desserts: most often her much loved brownies. Marilyn loved photography and capturing the faces of all her loved ones. She filled a bookcase with her treasured scrapbooks.
Marilyn is survived by her three children, Linda Churchill and husband Gene of Frisco, Texas, Terri Frazier of Plano, Texas, Bob Frazier and wife Christina of Troy, Missouri; two stepchildren, James Monschke and wife Anastasia of San Francisco, California, and Keith Monschke and wife Elizabeth of Commerce, Texas; four siblings, Elaine Ferguson and husband Warren of Marion, Massachusetts, Arthur Mac Harrison and wife Kristina of Wakefield, Rhode Island, Gail Panza and husband Russ of Washington, Missouri, and David Harrison and wife Linda of Corning, New York; three grandchildren, Jaclyn, Josh, and Adam; three step grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, and Elizabeth; and three great grandchildren, Jackson, Jared, and Jentry.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Eleanor Harrison; her husband, David Monschke; and her sisters, Carol Ostroff, Evelyn Davies, and Donna Jordan.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Reverend Marianne Nassef will be officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/marilyn-harrison-monschke. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. The family will receive friends and family during a visitation on Tuesday, July 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
