Marilyn Barrows Cross, age 72, of McKinney, Texas passed away August 21, 2009. She was born September 7, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to UV and Rose Marie (Turner) Barrows. On June 30, 1960 she married Frank Cross in Dallas, Texas. Marilyn was a homemaker. She helped manage the family business, a freelance court reporting firm, Cross & Associates. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Marilyn loved tennis, a game she enjoyed playing on the court. Photography was also a passion along with gardening and writing. She was a loving grandmother who enjoyed playing with her grandchildren. Marilyn was a source of strength for her family and often shared a talk over coffee with her daughters. She was a loving wife and wonderful cook, who always enjoyed preparing good meals for family and friends. She had a certain unconquerable wit and had a very playful personality. Often she would offer her heart and a shoulder to those she knew serving as a nurturer, mother, and friend. She loved and was love to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Frank Cross; daughters, Christina Cross Weiner and husband, Joel Ray; Heidi Cross Gibson and husband, Jerry Ray, Jr.; Kelly Cross McTague and husband, Michael William; brother, John A. Barrows; grandchildren, Sara Ann Weiner, Mikenzi McTague, Triston Michael McTague, Jerry Ray Gibson III, Madeline Rose Gibson and numerous other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, UV and Rose Marie (Turner) Barrows and son, Casey Cross. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Plano, Texas.
