Marie Formeller, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep in McKinney, Texas surrounded by friends and family on September 1, 2017.She was born January 5, 1939, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Melvin and Lenna Wilcox. Marie spent her youth in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1957. She married Sam Brown in 1957. Marie and Sam had two children, Pamela Ann (Braithwaite) and Scott Wynn. She later married Tony Cranston in Ogden, Utah and had their son, Michael. Marie was then married to Ron Ames, before marrying Jim Formeller in 1992. She and Jim moved to Boise, Idaho in 1995. Her years with Jim in Boise were the happiest in her life. Marie and Jim spent summers camping and fishing and winters watching her beloved Boise State Broncos and visiting family. Together they enjoyed volunteering at Corpus Christi homeless shelter and sharing in their Catholic Faith. Jim preceded her in death in 2012. Marie often spoke of the love she had for her home state of Idaho and longed to again be with her husband.
After medical challenges, Marie moved to McKinney, Texas to be closer to her son, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, friend and wife and will be deeply missed.
Marie is survived by her brother, Bill Wilcox (Marlene); sister, Norma Jones (Gene), daughter, Pam Braithwaite (Steve); son, Mike Cranston (Melanie); grandchildren, Ashley, Eric, Easton, Corwin, Galen, Marissa, Madison; and great-grandchildren, Kensie and Emmie.
Marie was preceded in death by her son, Scott Wynn Brown; sister, Rhea Allen; father, Melvin Wilcox; mother, Lenna Wilcox, and husband, James Formeller.
Marie will be interred with her late husband Jim in Mt. Calvary cemetery in Salt Lake City.
