IN LOVING MEMORY

Mariano Eugenio Rodriguez

Dec 30 1937 - Oct 28 2022

Mariano Eugenio Rodriguez of Sachse, Texas passed away on October 28, 2022 at the age of 84.  He was born on December 30, 1937 to Mariano Rodriguez Silva and Alicia Ramos Tato in Havana, Cuba.  Mariano met his wife, Xiomara C. Rodriguez when they were 15 years old at a carnival. He went on to marry her on January 27, 1962 in Havana.

Mariano received his degree in accounting from the University of Cuba, Havana. In 1970, Mariano brought his family to the United States to escape Fidel Castro’s regime. He began working at MasterCraft.  Within the year he was promoted to operations manager and moved the family from Denver, Colorado to McKinney, Texas.  Within a couple of years, he started his own business with his longtime friend, Eduardo Aragon. Even though they had success, both were challenged to open a third plant in Phoenix. Mariano went on to oversee the canning operations of a midsize firm in McKinney and later retired from the United States Postal Service, USPS, while providing for his sons’ education needs. Many looked up to Mariano as one of the smartest men they had ever known and for his work ethic.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  Mariano will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.

Mariano is survived by his wife, Xiomara C. Rodriguez of Sachse, Texas; sons, Juan Carlos Rodriguez and wife, Susan of Allen, Texas and Roberto Rodriguez and wife, Lisa of Spain; grandsons, Orlando Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Alejandro Rodriguez, and John Kirley; granddaughters, Jensan Rodriguez Bartos and husband, Greg and Julieanna Kirley; brothers, Jorge Rodriguez of Miami, Florida and Jose “Pepe” Rodriguez of Anna, Texas; sisters, Alicia Rodriguez of Havana, Cuba; Silvia Rodriguez of Naples, Florida and Graciela Rodriguez of Havana, Cuba; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Orlando Rodriguez; parents; and brother, Roberto Rodriguez.
