Marian Dorothy Smith Medlock of McKinney, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2022, at the age of 97. She was born on October 10, 1924, to Arthur E. and Stella Mae (Peet) Smith in Texla, Texas. Marian graduated from Vidor High School and then attended secretarial school in Tennessee. She married Fletcher Calvin “Rusty” Medlock on May 7, 1946, and they raised four children together. She worked full or part time most of her life including for Ohmstede Machine Works in Beaumont, Texas, Sears Credit Department in Dallas, Texas, Robert Edgar CPA in Beaumont, Texas, and Wildwood Baptist Church in Village Mills, Texas. She finally retired when she and Rusty moved to McKinney, Texas, in 2002, to be near their kids and grandkids. She enjoyed sewing, playing games and taking care of her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church, McKinney, and was active there until her move to Stonefield Assisted Living in 2017.
Marian is survived by her children, Susan Medlock Watson and husband, Philip, Becky Boggs and husband, Dale, Debi Huggins and husband, Tommy, and Tommy Medlock; grandchildren, Buffy Cochran and husband, Steve, Jared Huggins and wife, Diana, Rusty Medlock and wife, Becki Gebby, Rylie Huggins and wife, Leah, and Devin Medlock; great grandchildren, Courtney McBee, Calli Ramos and husband, Gary, Baleigh Goodner, Natalie Huggins, Alex Huggins, Bella Huggins, Lillie Huggins, and CJ Huggins; great-great grandchildren, Adalyn Ramos, Kason Ramos, Saegan Young, and Zayden Guevara; brother, Joe Smith and wife, Carol; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rusty Medlock; sisters, Arthur Mae Hankins and husband Herman, Marjorie Kirk and husband, LC, and Doris Fail and husband, Johnny.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
