IN LOVING MEMORY

Maria Gudino

Dec 22 1951 - Apr 23 2022

Maria de Jesus Gudino passed away April 23, 2022, in McKinney, Texas at the age of 70. She was born to Jesus Gudino and Maria Remedios Toscano on December 22, 1951, in Guadalajara, Mexico. Maria was raised in Matamoros, Mexico with her siblings. She was the seventh of eight children. Maria was a bright student, a beautiful tomboy and a competitive dancer as a child. She loved learning and playing with her little sister, Francis.

In 1974, Maria met and later married her husband, Fred B. Rendon, Jr. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Deborah and Judith. Motherhood delighted Maria. She loved her girls and they were inseparable from the beginning. Maria inspired her daughters to follow Christ and encouraged them to pursue their passions and talents in music, dance and fine arts. She was a driven woman-always striving for the best life for her children and family. Her career in real estate ignited her passion for helping the Hispanic community. Her clients always became her close friends. Her life’s bonus was becoming a grandmother to her four grandsons. She was their biggest cheerleader…never missed a football game, track meet or wrestling match. She was a spiritual leader to them and never tired of bragging about her grandsons. Their Nana had a limitless amount of hugs, dances and balloons for her boys.

Maria also had a passion for serving her community through her church and outreach programs. She volunteered every year at “Christmas for the Homeless”, helped with church events and always provided a warm place of rest for anyone in need. Her greatest calling was to inspire curiosity about the Word of God…she was a faithful disciple. She was thankful to her heavenly father until her last breath.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lewis of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Judith Engle and husband, Joshua of Aubrey, Texas and their father, Fred B. Rendon Jr.; and grandsons, Christian, Julian, Theodore, and Nathaniel. Maria adored her nieces and nephews. She loved her extended family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Gudino and Maria Remedios Toscano; sister, Francis Salazar; nephew, Gabriel Salazar and brother, Guillermo Gudino.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
